Q: Awakening Wins 2012 Hollywood Book Festival Award for Best Genre Fiction

Gala Celebration in Los Angeles Honors New Works Most Worthy of Motion Picture Adaptation



 Q: Awakening has received the 2012 Best Genre Fiction Award at the Hollywood Book Festival. In naming award winners, the festival's distinguished panel of judges seeks to identify those works that have the greatest potential for development into film, television, and/or multimedia projects. This year's awards ceremony was held at the Los Angeles's famous Roosevelt Hotel, home of the first Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards Ceremony.

Presenting to this year's sell-out crowd at the Pacific Northwest Writers Conference in Seattle, G.M. Lawrence along with authors Jeff Abbott, Kevin O'Brien, Mike Sherer, Bob Dugoni, Mike Lawson, and Boyd Morrision explored the delicate art of making characters real by making them vulnerable.  Case studies ranged from John LeCarre's Alec Leamas to Lee Child's Jack Reacher and many more.  The panel was one of the highlights of this years conference.

G.M. Lawrence's recent reception and book signing at the famous Booksellers in Memphis had one of the largest turnouts in the store's history.  Thanks to everyone who attended and to those who joined the private dinner party afterwards!

The Hollywood Book Festival has named Q: Awakening by G.M. Lawrence winner of its Best Genre Fiction award for 2012.  The Hollywood Book Festival aims to spotlight literature worthy of consideration by producers and directors for development as a major motion picture.
